Sage, Painted
Salvia viridis
Sometimes known as green topped sage, this colourful annual is grown for its colourful bracts which are borne on upright stems from mid-summer until the first frosts. These are blue, pink and white. Plant in full sun in well drained soil. An infusion of the leaves can be used to make an antiseptic gargle.
Height and spread 50cm (18ins).
