Excellent variety for crab apple jelly as its orange/pink apples produce an attractive jelly of the same colour. A profusion of fragrant white flowers in spring over a long period which are attractive to pollinators and are followed by masses of colourful creamy orange-yellow apples which persist well into winter as the birds tend not to eat them. Plenty to pick leaving a wonderful display on the tree. Upright habit, deciduous. Relatively new introduction from New Zealand.Small, compact, self-fertile variety which is good for pollinating other apples. It produces large crab apples which are excellent for jelly making as the orange/pink fruits produce an equally colourful orange/pink jelly. Excellent ornamental tree producing a profusion of scented, single, pure white flowers in spring, then the colourful fruits in autumn which persist well as the birds tend not to eat them. Tolerant of shade but is better in full sun.

TREE 4 x 3m (13 x 10ft) in 20 years, ultimate height 4m (13ft).

Br = Bare Root Plant

Bare-Root Plants

Bare-root plants are sold without a pot/soil around the roots. This is a more cost effective and environmentally friendly way of growing plants. To ensure the best plant health we do not store our plants in cold storage, but they are left in our field or plant beds until they are ready for packing or collection.

Items marked Br are bare rooted plants grown from cuttings and are typically 1-2 years old.

Availability

Bare rooted plants are only available when the plants are dormant (typically from late November to March).

If a plant is currently out of stock because it is out of season (for example, bare rooted plants in summer) or we have sold out but we are expecting more to be available you can pre-order the plant. We only charge credit/debit cards when an order is despatched, not when an order is placed.
