COLLECTION FROM THE GARDEN CENTRE.
If you live near enough to the Garden Centre you are welcome to
come and personally collect your plants and sundries. Bare rooted
plants are only available when the plants are dormant (depending
on the weather this is normally in November). Please check that
we still have the varieties you want before setting out.
If you would like us to reserve plants for you we can do this but
we shall charge a reservation fee of £5.00. When the order
has been reserved the value will be charged to your credit card. We reserve plants as soon as possible, but please allow up to 3 days during busy periods.
Alternatively we can get the plants ready for you when you arrive,
but if it is a large quantity it will take a little time. However,
this will give you time to browse around the large range of container
grown trees and shrubs, look around the shop or simply have a cup
of tea or coffee!
NON-DELIVERY OR DAMAGE.
An estimated delivery will be advised on your order confirmation. If you have supplied us with an e-mail address you will be notified when your order is despatched. All orders are despatched on a next working day service. Please contact us if your order is not delivered within 2 working days of despatch.
Please unpack and check your order as soon as possible and notify us within 3 days of receipt of any damage or shortages. We can accept no responsibility for loss or damage if these conditions are not met.
BEFORE YOUR PLANTS ARRIVE/PLANTING AND PRUNING INSTRUCTIONS
Please read the notes in the plant
guide. Full planting and pruning hints will be enclosed with
each order.
ALL SIZES.
As this catalogue is printed before the end of the growing season
all sizes are based on anticipated growth rates.
DESPATCH.
PLANTS ARE DESPATCHED FROM THE NURSERY AS SOON AS POSSIBLE,
BUT AT CERTAIN TIMES OF THE YEAR THERE MAY BE A DELAY OF SEVERAL
WEEKS FROM THE RECEIPT OF AN ORDER TO ITS DESPATCH.
The main problem is caused by the build up of orders for bare rooted
plants in September and October while we are waiting for the plants
to become dormant, so if you want your plants in November please
order early. As far as possible we despatch orders in the sequence
in which we receive them, subject always to availability of the
plants. We try to avoid despatching plants when the ground is frozen.
We do find that planting in autumn, January and February causes
fewest problems. In March and April the plants have often started
into growth and are more susceptible to adverse conditions and delays
in transit.
AVAILABILITY.
Pot grown and cell grown plants (marked Pg, CG and CG10 in the
catalogue) are usually available for despatch or collection all
year round. Bare rooted plants (listed as Sd, Br or Tr in
the catalogue) can only be despatched when dormant, normally from
mid-November until early April, but these dates vary with the weather
and with the variety of plant.
SUBSTITUTES.
In the event of non-availability, we can try to substitute with smaller or younger plants, or similar varieties whenever possible. If you would like us to send substitutes please say so on your order. We reserve the right
to send available plants and refund for out-of-stock items.
CHANGING AND CANCELLING YOUR ORDER.
You can change or cancel your order at any time up to the time your order is packed or reserved for collection with the expeception of non-stock lines which you have requested us to order for you. When paying by credit or debit card we do not charge your card until the goods are packed or reserved.
Please call us on 01280 827925 and quote your order reference number to change your order.
WARRANTY AND RETURNS/REFUND POLICY.
All plants are sent out in good condition, but if you are dissatisfied
on receipt of goods we shall refund your money for the cost of any
goods returned if they are returned properly packed within 3 days
of receipt. Please call us on 01280 827925 to discuss this.
When plants are newly transplanted they are more susceptible
to diseases and adverse conditions. A healthy plant can fail should
it become dried out, be planted in unsuitable conditions, be affected
by cold whilst not established, or many other like factors and we
cannot accept responsibility for failures. Should any failures occur
we will consider claims if sent by August with complete details
and we would usually offer to replace the plants in the autumn at
half-price plus normal carriage charge. This offer does not affect
your statutory rights.
