Tough, dependable, easy to grow deciduous tree with dense, rounded habit and dark green foliage. In May it will be laden with fragrant, round clusters of blossom, a most attractive rich red with prominent white eyes which are popular with pollinating insects. In autumn shiny red haws in bunches can be seen all over the tree and these persist after the leaves have fallen. They are good food for birds, especially finches and tits. 15ft x 15ft (4.6m x 4.6m) in 20 years, ultimate height 25ft (7.6m).
