Whitebeam in flower. Insert shows new leaves unfurling.

Very tough, round-headed deciduous native tree with leaves bright green above and downy white beneath. Flat bunches of white flowers May to June followed by dark red fruits in autumn. Any ordinary well drained soil, sun or partial shade. Salt tolerant.
TREE 20ft x 12ft (6m x 3.7m) in 20 years, ultimate height 50ft (15m).
