Thyme, Pink Ripple
Thymus serpyllum Pink Ripple
A semi-prostrate, evergreen sub-shrub with aromatic golden leaves which emit a wonderful lemon fragrance when crushed. They have many culinary uses and are particularly good in salads. Pretty pink flowers from darker buds are produced in summer and these are attractive to bees and butterflies. Plant in a sunny position in light, poor soil. If the soil is heavy it will be less aromatic and will not flower so well.
Height 15cm (6ins), spread 20cm (8ins).
