Mat forming, evergreen sub-shrub with finely hairy trailing stems with lemon scented small mid-green leaves. Whorls of two lipped dainty white flowers appear in the summer and these are attractive to bees and butterflies. Good for planting at path edges where they will spread onto the path then give off a wonderful perfume when walked on. Also good on rockeries and in the herb garden.

Plant in a sunny position in light, poor soil. If the soil is heavy it will be less aromatic and will not flower so well.

Height 5-10cm (2-4ins), spread 50cm (18ins).
