Thyme, Lemon Variegated
Thymus citriodorus aureus
Extremely pretty, small, evergreen sub-shrub with variegated green and gold foliage. It has an upright but spreading habit and the foliage has a delightful lemon scent and has many culinary uses from savoury to desserts. From red buds it produces dainty lavender pink flowers in summer and these are attractive to bees and butterflies. Plant in a sunny position in light, poor soil. If the soil is heavy it will be less aromatic and will not flower so well.
Height 15cm (6ins), spread 15cm (6ins).
