Bushy, rounded dwarf variety of Sweet Box with deep purple-red stems bearing glossy, lance-shaped dark green foliage. In February and March the red buds open to highly scented, spidery flowers which emit a spicy vanilla perfume and these are followed by black berries in late summer. Can be grown as a shrub or used to form a neat low hedge.

SHRUB Height 70cm (23ins), spread 50cm (18ins).
