A easy to grow, popular, deciduous flowering shrub which carries pendent racemes of deep crimso, tubular flowers, March to April followed by blue-black berries. The flowers are attractive to bees and other insects. The crinkled, mid-green foliage is blackcurrant scented, especially if crushed. Fast growing. Plant in any reasonable soil in sun or partial shade. Once established it will become drought tolerant. It will make a good informal hedge which should be trimmed immediately after flowering. Height and Spread: 1.8m x 1.5m .
