Hedging

Hedging

Why plant a hedge?  Well hedges have many advantages over other screens or fences.  To list just a few:

  1. They are permanent living structures which improve the air quality by absorbing carbon dioxide and releasing oxygen and passively absorb pollutants.
  2. They look attractive and some emit wonderful perfumes.
  3. They can reduce noise pollution.
  4. They do not blow down in storms.
  5. There are many different plants which make attractive hedges – pretty well a hedge for any situation.
  6. They create great habitats for wildlife.

Use the Filters to give a list of plants suitable for different locations and quickly list plants with different attributes such as if the hedge drops its leaves in winter, or browse through the popular searches below. If you know the name of the plant you are looking for you can use the search function to find it quickly, or use the A-Z index below.

If you want some suggestions or more advice just get in contact with members of our plant team who will be more than happy to help.
