Beni Maiko translates to "red haired dancing girl". Compact, bushy shrub with leaves emerging a brilliant red in spring, turning a pinkish colour and then a green-red in summer. In autumn, the leaves turn a vibrant yellow/orange and deep red before falling. It prefers moist, well-drained soil and is best positioned in slight shade although it is tolerant of full sun if protected from the mid-day sun. 'Beni Maiko' makes a fantastic small garden tree with particularly good interest in the Spring and Autumn.
Height up to 1.2 - 1.5m (4 - 5ft), spread to 60 - 90cm (2 - 3ft).
