Heuchera are grown predominantly for their leaf colour but produce slender stems of flowers in the summer that are attractive to butterflies. This easy to grow perennial is tolerant of many different growing conditions including full sun, shade, drought and seaside locations. Grow in any fertile, well drained soil. Evergreen in mild winters but tidy damaged leaves in the spring and divide clumps every 3-4 years to encourage vibrant young growth. Good resistance to damage by deer and rabbits. Be careful not to bury the crowns when planting.
This variety which is new for 2015 is a knockout with its ultra purple leaves with fluted edges and a slightly silvery hue and distinctive veining. The evergreen foliage is very colour fast, even in the winter. Any winter damaged foliage should be removed in the spring. The dainty purple pink flowers appear over a long period from May to September on short stems above the foliage, the colour complimenting the foliage. These are attractive to butterflies. This is a vigorous variety with a multi-crown habit which is deer and rabbit resistant. It will thrive in any fertile, well drained soil in full sun, part or full shade. As with all Heucheras, be careful not to bury the crowns when planting. Tolerant of full sun, but better planted in partial shade in any fertile, well drained soil. Height 12ins (30cm) Spread 22ins (56cm) Flower Height 15ins (38cms)
