An elegant, semi-prostrate variety with upright curving branches which will be covered with two lipped deep violet-blue flowers right up the stems from early spring into summer and these are very attractive to bees. The needle-like evergreen foliage is dark green and these very aromatic leaves are used widely in many culinary dishes.

Sprigs from the tips are excellent with meat and fish, or the fine needles when chopped are good in stuffing, cakes, biscuits, jams and fruit salad.

Plant in a sunny position in well-drained soil and due to its habit is good planted on a slope or in a large container.

Height 50cm (20ins), spread 90cm (36ins).
