Thymus pulegioides Tabor
Mat forming, vigorous, evergreen sub-shrub with large, rounded green leaves which are highly aromatic. Clusters of lilac pink flowers over a long period in summer are attractive to bees and butterflies. To keep the plant neat trim off dead flower heads after flowering. Good on rockeries, in herb gardens or on the edge of a path where it will creep onto the path and give off wonderful a wonderful aroma if stepped on.
Plant in a sunny position in light, poor soil. If the soil is heavy it will be less aromatic and will not flower so well.
Height 10-15cm (4-6ins), spread 25cm (10ins).
