Very attractive, easy to grow herb with aromatic, green, slightly hairy leaves and heads of tiny purple-pink flowers in summer. New growth should be cut back to near the ground in winter leaving a mat of foliage. Use leaves fresh in many dishes but best added near the end of cooking to maintain the full flavour, or they can be dried or frozen. Flowers can be cut for flower arrangements. Good antiseptic and medicinal herb. Plant in full sun.
