They have also been known as Chinese chives as they have been recorded 4 to 5,000 years ago in China. Grown for its flat, grass-like leaves which taste and smell of garlic. It produces clusters of star-like flowers which are attractive to butterflies and which can be eaten or dried and used in flower arrangements from summer into autumn. Ornamental plant which can make a good border to a herb garden or be used as a dense ground cover plant in a sunny site.
