DOGWOOD, MIDWINTER FIRE (Cornus sanguinea Midwinter Fire)
 

Most attractive form with unusual orange-yellow and red stems, very colourful in winter. In autumn the green leaves turn butter yellow and remain on the bushes well into November, then finally drop. Flat heads of creamy-white flowers late spring or early summer, followed by blue-black fruits. Bushy habit.
HEDGE This Dogwood is particularly good for informal hedges. For this purpose plant 12-15ins (30-38cm) apart.
SHRUB 4ft x 4ft (120cm x 120cm).
