Carrot:Kingston F1

A new hybrid of high calibre, producing heavy, cylindrical, well-coloured roots with impeccable flavour. With strong tops, meaning easier lifting, 'Kingston' also boasts good storage qualities, and is ideal for winter stews, casseroles and as a steamed vegetable. Versatile, easy to grow variety for the garden. Crops in 85 Days.

Sowing Instructions. Sow May to end June for maincrop production, thinly, 12mm (½ inch) deep in well prepared soil, in rows 30cm (12 inches) apart. Thin out seedlings if necessary, to 2.5cm (1 inch) apart.

Growing Instructions. Water only if necessary as excessive water may encourage leaf growth instead of roots. Earth up growing roots with soil to prevent green crowns. Cover later sowings with fleece or fine netting to minimise carrot fly infestation. Water soil beforehand, if dry, to make lifting easier.

Aftercare Instructions. Prefers well-drained, moist, rich soil. Harvest August to November. Roots can be lifted to store overwinter.
