Ground Cover Root-Wrapped Roses

Rose, Kent (Rosa Kent 'Poulcov'). Award of Garden MeritNewGo to Top of Page

One of the County Series of groundcover roses which produces masses of creamy-white saucer-shaped, semi-double blooms that repeat-flower from June until the first frosts. Its procumbent, soil-covering habit makes it ideal for banks, beds, in pots and on difficult slopes. It will tolerate some shade. The flowers have a light fragrance. A very useful garden rose and a delight when in full flower as the blooms make an excellent cut-flower too! Award: RHS AGM. (Bred by Poulsen Roses, 1989).

A very useful groundcover rose with highly attractive mauve semi-double flowers set against dark green foliage. Best of all, even for a compact rose, this rose packs some punch with a strong spicy fragrance, so perfect for edging pathways or pots near to the house. Its repeat-flowering performance ensures generous quantities of flowers throughout the summer and autumn. (Bred by Keith Zary, 1996).

Rose, Wild Thing (Rosa Wild Thing). Go to Top of Page

Don't let the name put you off, as this eye-catching groundcover rose will provide a colourful soil-hugging carpet of bright mauve semi-double flowers from June until the hard frosts. Its growth is spreading, but is easily managed. It is perfect to fill gaps in lacklustre borders, to keep the weeds down in unwieldy beds and slopes, or as a patio plant in a pot - versatile yes, but certainly not wild! Awards: Gold Standard Award in 2008. (Bred by Jackson Perkins, 2008).
Height: 75cm (1.5ft) and Spread: 100cm (3ft). Groundcover Rose.
