Spiraea

Spiraea. Go to Top of Page

A group of mainly deciduous ornamental shrubs grown for their showy flowers borne in profusion in spring or early summer. Many also have very attractive new foliage. They are good specimens for a mixed shrub border, the taller varieties make interesting informal hedges, and the dwarf varieties are useful on a large rockery. Grow in fertile, moist but well-drained soil in full sun or partial shade, but protect colourful new foliage from late frosts.
